Minister of Oil Participates in the 3rd GCC Petroleum Media Forum

Minister of Oil H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa participated in the ministerial discussion session on "Gulf Petroleum Media and Future Energy Trends", as part of the 3rd GCC Petroleum Media Forum, hosted by the city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The forum was held under the theme "Gulf Petroleum Media and Future Energy Trends" on Tuesday and Wednesday, 19 and 20 April 2017 at the Rosewood Hotel in the presence of a number of ministers, senior officials, experts, consultants and media representatives.

The Minister expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, UAE, praising the strenuous efforts of the teams tasked with organizing this important Gulf event. He noted that global oil markets were witnessing growth and positive developments that reflect the extent of the success of recent steps taken by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The Petroleum Media Forum was held for the first time in the State of Kuwait, while Riyadh hosted the second edition and the third edition by Abu Dhabi City. The forum is part of the efforts to activate the GCC Petroleum Information Strategy, which seeks to highlight the role of the oil sector, the achievements of the petroleum industry in GCC countries, GCC contribution to the global economy and their keenness to protect the environment. The goal of the Media Forum is to develop a specialized petroleum media in the region that can contribute to the implementation of the GCC petroleum information strategy and help enhance the capabilities of specialized media professionals to enable them to perform their important role in conveying a true picture of the state of affairs of the oil sector.
