Oil Minister takes part in UN climate meeting

​Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Oil and Environment Minister, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, participated in the Ministerial Consultations on Funding Arrangements for Responding to Loss and Damage.
 
The meeting was co-chaired by Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Foreign Minister, UN Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27) President, and Dr. Sultan Al-Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, COP28 President-designate.
 
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Bin Daina stressed the need to remove all obstacles that impede rapid and effective access to financial and technical resources to reduce the losses and damages resulting from climate change, calling for reaching practical outcomes that can be adopted during COP28, set to be hosted by the UAE in order to achieve climate security and sustainable development goals.
