Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, the Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, met with Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78).
The meeting reviewed Bahrain’s efforts on reducing carbon emissions and adapting to climate change.
They discussed ways to enhance collaboration and share the experiences of climate action in Bahrain and other countries ahead of the upcoming COP28 in the United Arab Emirate.
The minister praised UNFCCC efforts to promote climate security and sustainable development goals (SDGs) by taking action on climate change.
