Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, met with Dr. Vania de Stefani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL).
Bin Daina stressed the importance of further developing strategic cooperation with international institutions specialised in preventive and supportive projects to protect the environment in line with achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The minister praised the OSRL's role in protecting the marine environment and responding to natural disasters on regional and international levels.
He underlined the keenness to continue developing capabilities and enhancing professional standards and speed of response in responding to oil spill incidents and protecting coasts and territorial waters.
OSRL is the largest international industry-funded cooperative specialised in dealing with oil spills by providing preparedness, response, and intervention services across 12 locations around the world.
OSRL is based in Bahrain as its headquarters in the region.
