Minister of Oil and Minister of Transport and Telecommunications attend the founding meeting of Bahrain Airport Company Jet Fuel Company

The Bahrain Airport Jet Fuel Company, a joint venture between BAC and nogaholding, the company which oversees the oil, gas and petroleum assets of the government of Bahrain, reached the operational phase with its first shareholder meeting on June 15 held at the nogaholding office. The meeting was attended by Minister of Oil His Excellency Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa from nogaholding’s side and the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed from BAC’s side. Also present were the company Chairman and members of the Board of Directors. The meeting followed a Ministerial Decree issued by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, for the establishment of a Bahraini joint venture between nogaholding and BAC in order to regulate aviation refuelling at the Bahrain International Airport (BIA).



During the meeting, both sides reviewed the key objectives for the establishment of the company, which aspires to help the country's esteemed government for further achievements in the area and to organize work in order to enhance the status of the BIA. During the next phase the project will see full modernisation to keep pace with developments in the Kingdom, including well developed airport structures, modern storage facilities and an extensive network to supply aircraft fuel inside the BIA, as well as other advanced facilities. They discussed several regulatory matters regarding the company functioning as well as financial and administrative issues. They also discussed the relationship between the Bahrain Airport Jet Fuel Company and other Bahraini and international oil companies.



Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the new company in promoting investments, products and strengthening investment structure in the Kingdom by establishing best practices and improving services. They discussed ways to upgrade BAC services in order to attract more global aviation companies to choose Bahrain as their refuelling point, which would contribute to air traffic at the airport, impacting the development and prosperity of the Kingdom's economy.



At the conclusion of the meeting, Engineer Abdul Majeed Al Qassab, Chairman of Board of Directors of the Bahrain Airport Jet Fuel Company thanked H.E. Shaikh Mohammed and to H.E. Kamal Mohammed for their support, inputs and directives which were in line with the strategic project for fuel tank construction at the BIA to provide best services and achieve the goals and aspirations of the new company and strengthen the role of Bahrain further in the area under its wise leadership.
