On the sidelines of the 7th International Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management Conference (MaintCon 2024), held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, the Women in Industry and Asset Management (WIAM) Committee organised an event focusing on women's leadership roles and how they navigate workplace challenges.
On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, commended the support provided to women by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), in promoting the progress of Bahraini women across all sectors, in recognition of their capabilities and potential.
Dr. Bin Daina also highlighted the achievements of women in the oil, gas, and energy sectors, noting that their dedicated efforts, skills and creativity have made them vital partners in the sector's growth and development.
Maram Al Hammad, Chairwoman of the Women in Industry and Asset Management (WIAM) Committee at the Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability (GSMR), emphasised the crucial role Bahraini women play in asset management within the industrial sector. She also highlighted the conference’s focus on women's roles in the industry and asset management.
The WIAM event, aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering the next generation of female leaders in industries and labour markets, saw participation from over 300 women leaders. The event featured notable speakers, panel discussions on women’s leadership roles, and an awards ceremony recognising recipients of the Emerging Professionals Award, the Women of Excellence Achievement Award, and the Women Empowerment Award.
