Bahrain underscores environmental commitments at Arab Ministers' session in Saudi Arabia

​Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, participated in the 35th session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, held today in Saudi Arabia.



The minister underscored Bahrain's commitment to fulfilling its environmental and climate obligations through innovative initiatives and projects, in collaboration with regional and international partners to protect the environment.


Dr. Bin Dainah emphasised Bahrain's support for international efforts aimed at environmental preservation and expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's efforts in hosting and presiding over the council's current session.
 
He underscored Bahrain's support for Oman's presidency of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) and Saudi Arabia's hosting of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
 
The minister highlighted Bahrain's commitment to addressing environmental challenges, focusing on reducing pollution, such as renewable energy use.
 
He noted the importance of enhancing Arab cooperation on environmental issues and strengthening coordination to achieve climate security.​
