The Minister of Oil sponsors the 17th Middle East Mineral Corrosion Conference and Exhibition next September

Under the patronage of H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, the Kingdom of Bahrain hosts the 17th Middle East Mineral Corrosion Conference and Exhibition from September 30 to October 3, 2018 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. Organized by the Bahraini Engineers Association with the International Society for Corrosion Minerals – Saudi Arabian branch in coordination with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and sponsored by Saudi Aramco and more than 18 companies specializing in this field.

H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to H.M. King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, King of Bahrain, for his constant desire to provide all facilities for the oil events held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where H.M. supports conference tourism, exhibitions and the national economy in general.

H.E. the Minister of Oil also welcomed the holding of the 17th Middle East Mineral Corrosion Conference and Exhibition, and highly appreciated the organizers for selecting the Kingdom of Bahrain to hold this series of conferences and accompanying exhibitions, since the Kingdom of Bahrain has a good reputation in specializing conferences and exhibitions. H.E. also appreciated the support and assistance of the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in attracting all global events in the Middle East and the world, which has a high-level of platforms to exchange knowledge, views and experience among specialists, engineers and technicians of various oil companies, national and international. Wishing H.E., the organizers every success and hoping to reach the objective of exchanging best practices, expanding networks and displaying various products and services for the prevention of corrosion.

The phenomenon of mineral corrosion is an issue that needs to be constantly debated and discussed, to review international experiences and to come up with the best solutions and management practices. As it is a real problem facing the Gulf Region and the Middle East, more than other regions of the world because of geographical location and climatic conditions, which has become a source of anxiety in keeping up with daily activities that may cause serious damage in various areas, including pipelines, bridges, buildings, aircrafts, household appliances, and many others. Noting H.E. that this is an international challenge that has become necessary to minimize the effects of this costly problem, which affects the deterioration of the pipeline infrastructure, the storage of natural gas and crude oil, as well as refined petroleum products.

The conference and the accompanying exhibition will include a distinctive program through which scientific research and practical experience will be presented and discussed by global speakers, executives and senior officials of oil companies and other relevant companies. As well as the allocation of 6 specialized workshops and for the first time it will discuss the topic of women (women in industry) as well as many specialized programs for young people.

It is expected that the accompanying exhibition will attract a large number of specialists in the field of mineral corrosion from major international oil companies in the Middle East and various countries of the world, including the Kingdom of Bahrain, KSA, UAE, USA, Australia and other countries of the world. 

H.E. the Minister of Oil stressed that NOGA is working on a continuous strategic basis to make the Kingdom of Bahrain a global center in attracting associated oil events and exhibitions. Emphasizing the importance of preparing national competencies and refining their skills through a multiplicity of local and international partnerships, taking advantage of practical and scientific experience and gaining more experience.
