His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has deputised Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, to open the 13th Middle East Geosciences Exhibition (GEO Exhibition 2018) at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre Themed "Pushing the Technical Limits: Shaping the Energy Landscape", GEO Exhibition is held on the sidelines of the 13th Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition (GEO 2018), held under the patronage of HRH the Prime Minister. Oil Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, senior officials, as well as executive officials from regional and international geoscience, exploration and production companies from around the world attended the opening of the exhibition in which 100 companies from 19 countries are participating.
HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to HRH the Prime Minister for his constant interest in such an international oil event since its launch in 1994, noting that the event has evolved into a prestigious world event thanks to the Premier's constructive directives and constant follow-up.
The deputy premier conveyed greetings from HRH the Prime Minister to the exhibiting companies, sponsors, participants and visitors, and wishes of further success to the event, in particular, and the oil and gas industry, in general.
He affirmed the importance of the Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition for companies and researchers, being a platform to present the latest technology in the fields of oil exploration, geosciences and other fields related to the oil and gas sector.
During His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's prosperous era, Bahrain has made remarkable and advanced strides in the oil and gas sector, thanks to support of HRH Premier and backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, he said, noting that the oil and gas sector is among the main economic sectors that represent the driving engine of the national economy.
He highlighted the keen interest of the leadership and the government in boosting the conferences and exhibitions industry, as the best means to diversify and increase the kingdom's sources of income, adding that the remarkable participation in GEO 2018 reflects Bahrain's success in attracting and hosting mega global events.
Oil Minister extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his constant keenness on patronising GEO ever since it was launched in 1994.
He also expressed thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Premier for opening the event, lauding the constructive directives of the Premier and Deputy Premier, and their keenness on providing all kinds of support for specialised events that provide platforms to share knowledge and expertise in various economic sectors.
The minister said that the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) is exerting a "strategic effort" to translate the directives of the leadership to make Bahrain a hub for regional and global conferences and exhibitions into the ground, noting that the government has spared no effort to attract specialised events into the kingdom in order to develop the skills and knowledge of Bahrain and GCC oil and gas sector's competencies and affiliates.
Inaugurated in 1994, GEO is a biennial event held under HRH the Prime Minister. It is Middle East's premier event for presenting and learning about new developments, applications, geology, geophysics and for networking with community peers and industry experts.
