NOGA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Health and Safety Executive of Great Britain (HSE)

H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Health and Safety Executive of Great Britain (HSE), represented by Dr. Richard Judge, Chief Executive Officer of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), at a ceremony held by the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) on Sunday, 11th February 2018.  The ceremony was attended by senior and HSE officials in NOGA and its subsidiaries as well as Health and Safety Executive.

H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, highly appreciated the keenness of Cabinet of government of Bahrain to emphasize the importance of HSE in different working places and to make it the ideal working environment for human resources that raises productivity at all levels. The minister pointed out the efforts exerted by NOGA and its subsidiaries; to monitor the annual budgets for well -effective training programs, and to provide their human resources with the latest HSE programs as well as to promote human quality as a key element of production and growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

NOGA and its subsidiaries pay a special attention to promote capacity building of all HSE employees and play a major role of having strategic partnerships with international institutions that provide HSE programs. Minister stated. The minister assured that Oil and Gas Sector will continue the highest standers policy of performance in the field of HSE, which is a major pillar of the administrative related decision-making. Many of NOGA's subsidiaries have won international awards in the field of HSE to compete international companies over the past years. Minster said.

On the other hand, the Minister praised the efforts exerted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to provide all sectors in most of the countries all over the world with HSE programs and to keep them up with the latest best practices through wide range of communication channels with the oil and industrial sectors as well as help organizations to apply all the policies, controls and procedures they need to ensure their best practices are in line with environment international standards-work compliant. He praised the bilateral cooperation between the NOGA and its subsidiaries and Health and Safety Executive (HSE), in which Bapco is already started to include the other oil and gas companies in accordance with the approved projects time line accordingly.

In a related context, a workshop was held on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, which was conducted by officials of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on the provided services and to clarify the mechanism that enable NOGA's subsidiaries to benefit from the programs and activities including seminars and workshops.

It is worth to mention, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) implements several successful programs and projects in the region, including implementing the Health and Safety System of Abu Dhabi 2030, supporting Dubai Expo 2020 in related areas, and the drafted guidelines for projects in Singapore.
