Oil Minister meets Chairman of Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Company

Minister of Oil His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa met in his office at the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Company (AMPTC.) Chairman Adel Abdelaziz Al Jassim in the presence of National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) General Secretary Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Sharyan, and General Manager, Strategies & Planning, Ali A. Jabar Al Sawad.



The Minister praised Mr. Al Jassim’s sincere efforts in order to achieve further development and success which enabled it to become a prestigious company and a leader among Arab maritime transport companies aligned to the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). They discussed several topics related to the company and aspects of cooperation with oil companies in Bahrain, and maritime transport of crude oil and petroleum products as well as liquefied petroleum gas markets.



Engineer Adel Al Jassim expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister for the warm reception and topics discussed, ranging from the company business to the popular idea of greater joint Arab action.



The AMPTC was established in 1973 by member countries of the Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) in accordance with a decree of the council. The Kuwait-based Company was missioned to provide maritime transport services of hydrocarbon substances in the international market.



The aim of establishing the company was to carry out trade in the maritime transport of hydrocarbons, in the company's 11 tankers (crude and petroleum products, and liquefied petroleum gas), all modern tankers. The company management aspires to keep pace with global developments in the field of maritime transport, is keen to continue to work according to priorities and following a strategy aimed to achieve the highest possible profit. It also plans to expand its activities and diversify sources of revenue, raising capital, development and modernization of the fleet as well as the efficiency of the human element.
