Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Hala bint Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari, Secretary General of Supreme Council for Women (SCW).
The meeting discussed topics of common interest and means to further develop cooperation between the Ministry and the SCW.
The minister commended the SCW's role, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, in supporting Bahraini women's progress and enhancing their contribution to the comprehensive development process, particularly in the environment and climate sector.
The meeting highlighted Bahrain’s participation in the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 28), held in the United Arab Emirates.
They also reviewed Bahrain’s stance on documents and decisions expected to be issued during COP28 and its impact on women.
The SCW Secretary General expressed appreciation to the minister for his support in achieving gender balance.
She emphasised the importance of strengthening coordination for women's empowerment in the energy and environment sectors.
