The Minister of Oil Patronage the Third Middle East Refining Technology Conference next January

Under the patronage of H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, The Kingdom of Bahrain hosts the Third Middle East Refining Technology Conference (MERTC), during the period 22 – 23 January 2019 at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain. Organized by the World Refining Association in cooperation and coordination with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA), with the support of the Gulf Refining Union, Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Saudi Aramco, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery (SASREF) and a number of international oil companies with a numerical participation of experts, specialists, heads and directors of companies working in petroleum refining. As well as those interested in refining technology in the technical, research and academic circles, with the aim of discussing various solutions and modern technology in the dredging industries.

H.E. the Minister of Oil, valued the continuation of the World Refining Association to choose the Kingdom of Bahrain to host the series of conferences and exhibitions of the Middle East Refining Technology for the third time on the land of the kingdom. Expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation for the tireless efforts of the organizers. The participation of various specialized agencies in this regard, promotes the exchange of knowledge and the latest findings of modern technologies in this aspect, which in turn enhances the national economy and sustainable development and constructive participation to increase the efficiency of the human component in this important sector and other relevant sectors for the development of refining projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain in particular and the Middle East regions in general. Praising H.E., the positive support provided by the government and its keenness to provide the highest levels of support and assistance for such events.

Moreover, the technical papers and discussion sessions of the conference will focus on several topics, including: refining-related projects, future technologies, strategic projects to upgrade refineries, carbon emission management technology, regional projects, growth plans, talent strategies, optimal investment of development research, commercialization, integration of opportunities in refining and petrochemicals, digital transformation of the sector and other topics.

A number of local, regional and international companies will participate in the exhibition accompanying the conference, including Saudi Aramco, BAPCO, GPIC, SASREF, ExxonMobil, Haldor Topsoe and Arkema Company, which was established in 2004, specializing in the fields of chemicals, and other international companies.

It is noteworthy that the World Refining Association was established in 1996, specializing in the organization of many events of conferences, exhibitions, workshops, forums and other relevant specialized events. With the aim of exchanging knowledge and experience and providing many studies and researches, which in turn serve specialists and interested researchers and academics from Europe, Russia, Middle East, Africa and other countries of the world.
