The Third Edition of the Bahrain International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility

 

The National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) opens the third edition of the Bahrain International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the Intercontinental Regency Hotel Bahrain on Wednesday morning, October 17 2018, Organized by Bahrain CSR society, and in cooperation with the council for social responsibility in the Eastern region and (NOGA), with the support from the Bahrain Gas Company (Banagas), Viva Bahrain Telecom, Berlitz Language Institute and Al Qaod Entrepreneurship Foundation.

H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil welcomed all participants and wishing them a pleasant stay in the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the modern and global trends through various technical papers and other accompanying events that came to give a distinctive significance and an international indicator of The Kingdom wide-ranging charitable work, corporate tender responsibility and its founding principle of shared sharing in life. Praising the efforts of the organizing committee in preparing and coordinating with the various bodies, that contributes to the development of the system of exchange of information, experience and expertise and review best practices in this vital area.

H.E. the Minister of Oil said that the organizers have been choosing the titles of the topics of this conference that are applicable and appropriate to the world in which we live. By improving the quality of life and the distribution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) budget for activities that help people in need, are important to the progress and development of societies.

Moreover, H.E. the Minister of Oil said that CSR is a strategic concept that includes business management science, which is in the forefront of sponsoring charitable activities, programs, conferences, exhibitions and sporting events, based on the existence of legislation, regulations and laws governing the work of CSR in various countries of the world. H.E. explained that the oil companies that are affiliated under the umbrella of NOGA are paying attention to this regard. Stressing his happiness to consider social responsibility when defining the strategic objectives of the companies and not be far from productivity and development of human resources in it, which confirms what the Alliance of Chief Executives has gone through.

H.E. the Minister of Oil said that it is important to encourage employees to participate in charitable endeavors and encourage family participation and to disseminate this strategic concept in the society in which they live in. Noting, the need to create a social partnership with charitable civil society institutions to carry out various campaigns of public benefit and develop projects that are in line with the fundamental values of these institutions, which in turn will contribute to the loyalty to the products and services of these companies and enhance the morale of the employees and highlight their talents and make them a source of inspiration and pride for themselves, company and society.

In conclusion, H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Board of the Bahrain Social Responsibility Association and the council of social responsibilities in the Eastern region and members of the organizing committee and to the supporting companies and to all participants. Praising the outstanding efforts of the organizers, wishing everyone a successful conference and coming up with solutions and suggestions that contribute to the development of the necessary steps to ensure the implementation of CSR in a professional manner.

 

Afterwards, Eng. Jassim Al Shirawi General Manager of Oil & Gas Affairs at NOGA distributed the prizes to the winning companies, expressing his great pleasure to this year's winners, wishing them success in their projects and their voluntary and charitable orientations that serve the Kingdom of Bahrain. Eng. Jassim Al Shirawi has urged everyone to work hard and promote the joint responsibility of CSR and ensure the realization of the principles of sustainability. He also honored the supporters and the publics for this important event.
