HE Shaikh Mohammed
bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, received
the Secretary General of the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) Dr. Ahmed
Ali Al Sheryan who introduced to him the electronic shifting work team marking
the authority’s success to meet the requirements of the first phase which
earned it the Trust and Accreditation Certificate from the Information and
eGovernment Authority.

congratulated the team on this vital achievement. HE lauded the efforts of all
task forces in various departments to achieve the authority’s strategic goals
and use systems to boost cyber security and apply the best technical practices
to protect the electronic systems, assets and information from the increasing
hacking threats, and to confront cybercrimes.
HE
also praised the unrelenting efforts of Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of
the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology Shaikh
Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa in promoting the use of modern technologies to
provide egovernment services and boost cyber security. This reflects on the services provided to the actual
and potential strategic partners of all citizens and civil society
organizations.
The Minister
praised the efforts exerted by the CEO of the Information and eGovernment
Authority Mohammed Al Qaed to launch the "Trust" initiative for
information security in government agencies, which came as a motivator to create
a healthy and competitive environment for raising the level of information
security. It was through applying the principles of governance and technical
support to qualified human resources that achieved the regional leadership of
the Kingdom of Bahrain and achieved the highest levels of reliability for the
e-government environment.
On his part,
Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Sheryan, Secretary General of the National Oil and Gas
Authority (NOGA) expressed his happiness with the technical merit achieved by
the Authority. He praised the diligent efforts of the IT team in protecting and
shielding the Authority's information and their keenness to respond directly to
the penetration attacks more effectively. Dr. Al Sharyan commended the
continuous support and follow-up of the National Oil and Gas Authority by the
Minister to achieve the highest levels of productivity and competitiveness and
the commitment to take firm steps towards safe institutions of electronic
threats, stressing the importance of securing and protecting electronic systems
in the government sector. He also stressed on the importance of putting
solutions and policies in place to defend any incidents and potential security
attacks.
