Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, participated in two key roundtable discussions, on the sidelines of the ADIPEC 2024 Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi.
The first roundtable, titled "Fostering market stability, maintaining energy security and reducing emissions with technological innovation," focused on economic challenges, energy technologies, and the latest advancements impacting global energy supply.
The second roundtable, "Energy transition, AI and the role of emerging economies," discussed the role of AI in enhancing emerging economies and fostering a sustainable global energy sector.
Dr. Bin Dainah underscored Bahrain’s commitment to international conferences, leveraging insights to bolster initiatives that promote carbon neutrality, emission reduction, and renewable energy adoption, supporting sustainable development goals and next-generation AI solutions for energy.
He highlighted the energy sector’s dual challenge of sustaining traditional hydrocarbon production while reducing carbon intensity and investing in renewables.
Dr. Bin Dainah underscored the importance of international cooperation, innovation in carbon capture, hydrogen technology, and other modern approaches to tackling climate change.
On the sidelines of ADIPEC 2024, Dr. Bin Dainah met with Dr. Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, accompanied by Mark Thomas, Group CEO of Bapco Energies.
The minister commended the council’s role in driving innovative solutions for energy challenges, fostering clean energy policies, and reducing CO₂ emissions.
Dr. Wilkinson highlighted key council initiatives focused on creative energy solutions and investment opportunities in renewable projects worldwide.
