Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Oil and Environment Minister, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, has affirmed Bahrain's distinguished status as a regional and global leader in the exhibitions and conferences industry, thanks to its qualified and experienced competencies, as well as advanced infrastructure.
He highlighted the major role played by the Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition (MECC) since its inception in 1979 in achieving its desired goals, including the provision and exchange of information for those interested in working in all areas of prevention, in addition to access to the latest studies and techniques in this vital field.
The minister made the statements while receiving Dr. Raida Al Alawi, President of the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE), along with members of the orgainising committee of MECC 2023, set to take place in Bahrain on November 13-16.
Held at the Gulf International Exhibition Centre, Gulf Hotel, the 18th MECC is co-organised by the Bahrain Society of Engineers and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Dhahran Saudi Arabia Chapter, in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Environment.
The minister lauded the ongoing cooperation and coordination with the Bahrain Society of Engineers and sponsor companies, such as Saudi Aramco, in preparing and organising oil-related conferences hosted by the kingdom, wishing MECC 2023 every success.
Dr. Raida Al Alawi expressed thanks and appreciation to Dr. Bin Daina for his constant support for BSE's activities and events, highlighting the role played by the Bahrain Society of Engineers over the past five decades in organising many specialised conferences and exhibitions, including the MECC in 1979, which was among the first specialised conferences in the kingdom.
She indicated that BSE has developed MECC in terms of organisation and the topics it discusses, contributing to increasing the number of participants and exhibitors in the accompanying exhibition, which has entitled the four-day event to become a unique platform for professionals from all over the world.
Mohammed Al-Subaie, the conference Chairman stated that 128 work papers will be presented by renowned speakers from various countries, adding that more than 90 companies will showcase their products and technologies at the accompanying exhibition.
To demonstrate new technologies for Nonmetallic and 4th Industrial Revolution the exhibition will arrange special pavilions to display how they can best contribute in combating corrosion, he said.
Launched in 1979, the biennial corrosion conference and exhibition has evolved into a prime venue for sharing knowledge among professionals in all areas of corrosion mitigation. The number of professional and industrial delegates has steadily grown to cover all aspects of corrosion with representatives from around the globe.
The exhibition, held in conjunction with the conference, will provide a unique platform to showcase the latest developments in products, solutions and methodologies in the corrosion industry.
