Whereas the use of cars on public roads in our region in Bahrain and their dependencies is constantly increasing, and the resulting burden in traffic movement now calls for an increase in expenditures on the program of maintenance and improvement of our current public roads and the construction of new public roads; Whereas we consider it appropriate and correct that part of these expenditures should be borne by those who use cars on our public roads; That is why we, Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, the ruler of Bahrain and its dependencies, based on his recommendation from our Administrative Council, order on this day the 28th of Rabi 'Al-Thani 1388, corresponding to July 23, 1968, to enact the following law:
Bahrain Car Gasoline Tax Law - 1968
This law is called “Bahrain's Automobile Gasoline Tax Law of 1968,” and it shall be enforced and enforced on the ninth day of Jumada al-Awwal 1388 corresponding to the second of August 1968, and hereinafter it is called the “appointed day”
2. Starting from the designated day and onwards, a tax called the "gasoline tax" is levied and paid to the government of Bahrain for all car gasoline sales in the local markets in Bahrain.
3. The gasoline tax shall be levied at a rate of 16 fils for every regular US gallon of 231 cubic inches.
