The King of the country, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, issued Royal Decree No. (1) for the year 2015 defining the Minister Supervising Oil and Gas Affairs, Electricity and Water Affairs, and appointing a Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil and Gas Authority. The Minister of Energy is responsible for supervising oil and gas affairs, and electricity and water affairs, while the second article stipulates that the Minister of Energy, who oversees oil and gas affairs, is appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil and Gas Authority.
