Decree No. (84) for the Year 2006 Amending Certain Provisions of Decree No. (78) for the Year 2005

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa enacted on 19th November 2006 Decree No. 84 for the year 2006 amending certain provisions of Decree No. (78) for the year 2005 with respect to the formation of the Board of Directors of NOGA and defining NOGA’s objects and functions. It was stated in the Decree that a new clause under No. (14) shall be incorporated to Article (2) of Decree No. (78) for the year 2005 with respect to the formation of the Board of Directors of NOGA and defining NOGA’s objects and functions.

The new clause reads as follows: “Manage any of the companies under the control of NOGA, which are fully owned by the Government or in which the Government contribute to their capitals in excess of 50%, in the event that a new Board of Directors is unfeasible for any reason. The task of management of any of such companies by NOGA shall be assigned by Order of the Minister responsible for oil and gas affairs. Such assignment will be for six months and may be extended for a similar period once only”.
