According to a memorandum of understanding signed by the Minister of Oil and Environment with his Korean counterpart, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of South Korea cooperate in the environmental field and sustainable development.

​The Memorandum of Understanding aims to develop and enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, and to provide appropriate quality opportunities to exchange information, technology and expertise in the field of the environment and carry out cooperative activities in the environmental and climate fields and exchange visits and training opportunities, in addition to cooperation in the field of waste management, policies and programmes. His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dinah praised the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly Republic of South Korea and the cooperation it is witnessing in various fields, including environmental and climate affairs, stressing that the signing of the memorandum of understanding reflects the interest of the two countries and their keenness to push bilateral cooperation between the two countries towards broader horizons. In a way that contributes to accelerating the pace of achieving sustainable development goals and the desired environmental aspirations through innovation, cooperation, and optimal use of resources.
